Brendan teaches complete beginners to advanced classes - you will learn songs in your preferred style of music, technique, sight reading, rhythm, scales, and improvising. More advanced students can study theory and composition to imrpove their playing and musicianship.

Like all of our teachers at Spencers Music Store, Brendan will guide you through the fundamentals of guitar maintenance, you will dedicate a lesson to learning how to re-string and tune your own guitar, and through the course of lessons will learn about amplifiers, pedals and stomp boxes, how to take care of your instrument and what to look for in new equipment.

Brendan is proficient in all styles from classical, flamenco, jazz and blues to rock and metal. 

Brendan has been teaching since 2005. He has received a B.M. in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Studying classical with virtuoso Douglas Niedt, jazz with world renowned KC guitarist Rod Fleeman, and composition with Dr. James Mobberly. Brendan has also studied Argentine Tango and Flamenco with guitarist Beau Bledsoe, and studied in Spain with Flamenco guitarists Antonio Andrade and Maestro Enrique Vargas.
