Peavey proudly introduces its
6505® Series guitar amplifiers, named in celebration of Peavey's first 40
years, 1965 to 2005. The 6505 is also the relaunch of the 5150 Series, the
immensely popular amplifiers Peavey designed with Edward Van Halen. 6505®
Series amps feature five 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power amp tubes,
with presence and resonance controls and three-band EQ for taming their
notorious tone. |
While known as the 5150,
these amps became the undisputed go-to guitar amps for scores of rock,
hardcore and metal bands due to their raw tone, relentless power and
road-proven reliability. The 6505 is still the unquestionable choice for an
ever-expanding list of endorsers, including Ted Nugent, In Flames, Visqueen,
HIMSA, Darkest Hour, Sworn Enemy, Unearth, Bleeding Through, Story of the
Year, P.O.D., Bullet For My Valentine, Chimaira, Evergreen Terrace and many
more. |

Based on the 6505® Stack,
this combo offers the same classic sound in a smaller package. The sonic
trademark of traditional combo amps is the characteristic dispersion
of sound resulting from open-backed cabinetry. It's one of the features that
allows small combos to sound so big the speakers actually spread the sound
around more of the stage. But while open-cabinet designs are efficient, they
also leave most combos lacking in resonance and low-end thump, which are
characteristic of the "stack" sound. By sealing off the cabinet in the 6505,
Peavey has created a "one-piece stack" that sets it apart from other combos.
|
The combo boasts more
versatility than its stacked stable-mate thanks to an enhanced, clean sound
and circuitry that takes full advantage of the cabinet's sonic possibilities
and the impressive tonal balance of well-matched components, and an added
reverb circuit. Turn up the bass and youll appreciate the 6505® Combo's
sealed cabinet design. The serious guitarist looking for an expressive tonal
palette will find few amps that match the 6505's responsiveness. Because of
its singular design and distinguished tone, the 6505® 212 combo is in a
category all its own. |

The ULTIMATE tone machine. As
hot as the name implies, the XXX® rips. An amp not for the faint of heart,
it comes loaded with practical features such as a high-gain input and
paralleled speaker outputs. Utilizes four 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC
power amp tubes. Power amp section can be converted to use four EL34 tubes.
Delivers an earth-quaking 120 watts of pure tube power controlled by a
master volume pot and independent volume knobs for each of its 3 channels.
|
The Ultra and Crunch channels
have gain controls to further assist in taming this beast while achieving
killer sound. Tone contour is accomplished through passive controls for
Bass, Mid, and Treble on the Clean channel, while the Ultra and Crunch
channels utilize active Bottom, Body, and Hair (lo, mid, hi) controls.
Designed to work equally well into 4, 8, or 16 ohm loads, matching this
monster to a cabinet is a pleasure, not a pain. Includes footswitchable
channel and effects loop, damping switch (tight, medium, loose), and line
out with level control. |
